"Words are Lions or Flowers No.6" - Hand-Painted Ceramic Ornament
Words are Lions or Flowers
These hand-painted ceramic ornaments explore a playful, sculptural world where lions, birds, and humans coexist in moments of abstraction and symbolism. Inspired by a long spell spent painting in Berlin and hours in the Staatliche Museen, the imagery draws from ancient mosaics, Roman wall reliefs, and animal motifs that have stayed with me ever since. Some ornaments carry the phrase "Words are Lions or Flowers," while others showcase freely applied color, each sparking a unique story.
Painting these ornaments was a new challenge for me—working on a round ceramic surface offers a sculptural dimension to my designs. I layer the paint to create a patina that forms the perfect ground for the imagery. Each piece is unique and versatile, ready to hang on a tree or live as an art object anywhere in your space.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Condition of Original Artwork
Each original artwork is listed with detailed product photos for you to inspect before purchase. These photos document the exact condition of the work as it leaves my studio.
Original art often carries imperfections from its creation and journey—what I call "Studio DNA." These marks are part of the artwork’s story, a testament to the time it spent in my studio, being handled, displayed, and completed. They are not flaws or faults but integral elements of its history and character.
Please review the photos carefully before purchase.
Please note that this applies to ORIGINAL pieces of art. You can, of course, expect that the material of any REPRODUCTION artwork you purchase will be without flaws or signs of use.
