Flying Form on Glitter

Flying Form on Glitter

Hand-painted silkscreen 54 x 80 cm

Set against a soft grey Berlin wallpaper pattern, this piece carries a layered history. Beneath the surface lie several abandoned starts, later covered with a shimmering blue mixed with fine glitter. The central abstract form was inspired by fresco paintings in Florence, particularly Masaccio’s work in the Brancacci Chapel.

The price for the frame is included - see details below.

While studying the Florentine frescos, I became fixated on the feet of the figures—tiny details high above eye level. I filled sketchbooks with drawings of them, and even painted a few on canvas, though I later painted over those works. This image comes from that same impulse, revisiting a subject I once set aside through a more abstract lens.
