Fauna Study on Pink

Fauna Study on Pink

Hand-painted silkscreen 54 x 80 cm

A cluster of red, leaf-like forms rests against a pale pink floral background, while one shape seems to lift away into the space above. The contrast between the fine red lines and the soft pink ground gives the piece a light, rhythmic quality, somewhere between drawing and pattern, stillness and movement.

Provenance & Copyright

All artworks are sold directly by Martin Finnin and come from the artist’s studio, not through resale.

Purchase of an artwork does not include the transfer or licensing of copyright, which remains with the artist.

Painted in Ireland after returning from London, this work grew out of quick sketches made while visiting the National Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The shapes evolved naturally from those drawings, settling into a rhythm of red lines against a pale pink floral ground.
